Samuel M.D. Clark ledgers and papers, 1826-1869.

Three ledgers containing records of a jewelry business and records of the Justice of the Peace. Volume 1 (1825-1857) contains customers' accounts for jewelry orders and repairs and some succession records. Volume 2 (1854-1857) is a court record book containing succession records listing assets, including slaves, and disposal of property. Volume 3 (1857-1867) is a fee book of successions. Miscellaneous materials include receipts, court records and oaths written in English and French.
